Unless the Communities of Q’eros can advocate for themselves they will receive few of the potential benefits of the change coming to their communities. Several community members have expressed a desire to use video to bring the voices of their largely-illiterate community to crucial discussions about land rights, tourism initiatives and intellectual property rights. In this context, the Q’eros Video Collective was established in April 2007 with the support of

The objective of the Q’eros Video Collective is to establish an effective and self-sustaining program in community video production that begins with project planning and continues through all stages of filming and editing to the production of videos that can be distributed to local and international audiences.
